Papa Roach Finally In Croatia — And It Was Worth The Wait

Last night’s concert in Opatija was more than a show — it was a celebration. A long-awaited one, too. After decades of anticipation, Papa Roach finally performed in Croatia, and the legendary frontman Jacoby Shaddix made sure we knew exactly how much it meant to them.

The evening opened with KRYN, one of Croatia’s finest modern metal exports. Though the crowd was still gathering, KRYN delivered a tight, powerful set that helped ignite the atmosphere. Their sound filled the summer night air, laying the groundwork for what was to come. Then, right on time, Papa Roach stormed the stage — and never let go of the energy for the next hour and a half. They opened with the explosive Even If It Kills Me, a newer track that set the tone: heavy, emotional, and unapologetically alive. Throughout the set, Jacoby’s connection with the audience was flawless. Constantly engaging, speaking, singing into the crowd — he made it clear this wasn’t just another stop on tour. It was personal. The band acknowledged multiple times that this was their first time in Croatia, and they made sure to make it count.

The setlist was loaded with hits, following their usual tour pattern with a few welcome surprises. They played Kill The NoiseGetting Away With MurderFalling ApartScarsInfest, and of course, closed with Last Resort — the ultimate cathartic singalong that shook the entire venue. They also used the stage to speak about mental health and pay tribute to those who shaped and inspired them. A powerful moment was dedicated to Chester Bennington, during which Jacoby led the crowd in a moving singalong of In the End. The audience responded with full voices and raised hands — a heartfelt tribute that transcended words. Ozzy Osbourne received a long, heartfelt monologue from Jacoby. He spoke not only of Ozzy’s legacy in music, but also his role as a father and icon. Jacoby delivered an unexpected, spine-tingling a cappella version of Changes — one of the night’s most emotional highlights.

As the show neared its end, Papa Roach surprised fans with a nu-metal mashup, paying homage to the very scene they helped shape — including nods to KornDeftonesSystem of a Down, and Limp Bizkit. It was raw, nostalgic, and perfectly placed. They even performed their brand new trackBraindead, giving the Croatian audience a live taste of their freshest material, reminding everyone that this band is far from done.

All of it happened at the stunning venue in Opatija, which once again proved why it’s one of the most magical open-air concert spots in the region. With great sound, immersive lighting, and a crowd that was fully present, the night felt like a shared moment between the band and their fans. Organized by Charm Music, this concert wasn’t just a night of music. It was a milestone. A nod to 25 years of Infest, a love letter to their fans, and a hopeful promise that Papa Roach will return to Croatia again.
