After a three-year recording hiatus, Rijeka’s own doom metal vanguard Old Night returns stronger than ever. November 2025 saw the release of their fourth studio album, “Mediterranean Melancholy”—a conceptual opus centered on the Mediterranean, shaped by history, myth, and sorrow. Reflecting a deep emotional bond between land, sea, and identity, this release stands as a haunting tribute to the most beautiful corner of the universe and the place the band calls home.
Over the years, Old Night has established itself as one of the standout names on the European doom metal scene, fueled by their signature sound and commanding live presence. The new era was ushered in by two singles, “Homebound” and “The Loneliness of Lighthouse Keepers,” and you will have the chance to experience the new material live at Palach on February 7th.

Joining the bill as special guests are the Pula-based stoner/sludge machine My Pitbull Lucifer, a local DIY force backed by the No Profit Recordings label. The quartet emerged from the remnants of two legendary Croatian acts—psychedelic rock/metal outfit Mighty Zazuum and grindcore veterans Bolesno Grinje.
This potent fusion blends diverse musical influences into a unique sonic treasury, exploring eccentric landscapes through creative melodies, ethereal vocals, and innovative rhythms. Following a split vinyl release with the US band Ommnusand a ten-day promotional tour across six countries, their first full-length album, “Welcome to New Earth,” is set to be unleashed soon. It has already been announced with the singles “Gushing River” and “Mountains.”

Opening the night is Graia, a groove, stoner, and heavy metal band from Pula. The band is currently in the process of recording their debut album. After leaving a massive impression at last year’s Ri Rock Festival, we simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have them on this bill.
