One of the most pivotal names in the global progressive rock scene is returning to Zagreb. The legendary Jethro Tull will perform on October 11, 2026, at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, eight years after their last show in the city.
Led by the iconic Ian Anderson, whose performances have shaped rock history since the late 1960s, the band returns to the city where they first played back in 1975. The evening promises a blend of timeless classics and new material from their current “The Curiosity” tour. The concert at Lisinski is envisioned as a special celebration of the band’s rich musical legacy, held in a setting that highlights their artistic depth and allows the intricate details of their signature sound to shine.

A Legacy of Progressive Excellence
Jethro Tull stands among the most successful and enduring bands in progressive rock. Their story began in 1967, and a year later, they performed under the name Jethro Tull for the first time at London’s legendary Marquee Club. They quickly built a reputation in English blues clubs, gaining wider recognition after their standout set at the Sunbury Jazz and Blues Festival that same year. Their debut album, This Was (1968), marked the start of a discography that would define the sound of prog-rock for decades.
At the heart of the story is Ian Anderson: the songwriter, flautist, and vocalist whose unique approach to his instrument became one of the most recognizable elements in rock history. While the lineup has evolved over the years, Anderson has remained the creative constant, guiding Jethro Tull through various musical phases—seamlessly blending progressive rock, folk, blues, and classical influences.
From Classics to “Curious Ruminant”
Albums like Aqualung and Thick as a Brick are considered genre-defining masterpieces and essential touchstones in the evolution of art and progressive rock. Throughout the 1970s, Jethro Tull became a global touring powerhouse, known for sophisticated performances that combined top-tier musicianship with a distinct stage aesthetic. With tens of millions of albums sold, they remain one of the few bands of their era to continuously record and tour.
The current tour offers a cross-section of nearly six decades of work: from early 1968 tracks to their latest album, Curious Ruminant, released in 2025. This 24th studio album features nine songs written and composed by Ian Anderson. Joining him on stage are long-time members David Goodier (bass), John O’Hara (keyboards), Scott Hammond (drums), and Jack Clark (guitar).
