Tolminator is officially back this year—heavy, energetic, and above all, packed with authentic soul! As heavy music enthusiasts gathered once again in the iconic green sanctuary of Tolmin, the atmosphere was charged with unmatched anticipation. Day 1 set a sky-high standard for the rest of the festival, featuring a relentless lineup that kept the audience locked in from early afternoon right up to the midnight headline set.
Moscow Death Brigade brought their signature fusion of circle-pit hip-hop, hardcore punk, and electronic metal. To say they were energetic would be an understatement. From the very first beat, their relentlessly aggressive yet uplifting stage presence warmed up the crowd to an absolute boiling point, setting the perfect stage for what was to come. Every track was an invitation to move, and the packed crowd responded instantly with non-stop mosh pits and bouncing chants.
With the crowd fully primed, Scottish modern metal giants Bleed From Within took the stage and completely crushed it. Their set was a masterclass in modern heavy music power. The energy in the venue was nothing short of phenomenal—wall-to-wall packed with fans screaming along to every riff and chorus. The band members were remarkably communicative, hyped up, and thoroughly engaged with the audience from start to finish. With massive walls of death and endless crowd surfers, Bleed From Within delivered one of the most explosive sets Day 1 had to offer, leaving the crowd completely electrified.
As the festival grounds began filling up, Deadhaven took the stage, providing the perfect bridge toward deeper, heavier sonic territory. Their set marked a distinct shift in the evening’s mood, plunging the crowd into low-tuned, crushing riffs and layered, weight-heavy atmospheric tones. Complemented by a dynamic light show filled with dramatic color changes and sharp cues, Deadhaven delivered a completely fresh type of energy—one that was technical and dark. The audience embraced this shift with open arms and got ready for the main headliner of the evening.
In Flames: Veterans Deliver a Timeless Performance
Closing out the opening night were none other than Swedish melodic death metal legends, In Flames. As true pioneers and highly respected veterans of their genre, their debut performance on the Tolminator stage was a monumental moment for the festival. A massive crowd gathered to witness the icons in action, filling every available inch of the festival grounds. The vibe throughout their set was warm, triumphant, and genuinely beautiful. For fans who have followed In Flames across countless concerts over many years, this performance carved out brand new, cherished memories in a legendary setting. Their timeless anthems, flawless vocals (Anders outdid himself) and guitar harmonies + majestic lighting sealed Day 1 of Tolminator 2026 as an instant classic.
